Yonkers Loses Again, 7-3
|
Tim Peters led Erie to a win over Yonkers. The final score was 7-3. Peters collected 2 runs batted in, while going 3 for 4 at the plate. The first baseman also scored 2 times. Gabe Brand got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits in 5.1 innings. Albert Broughton got the save, the 20th for him this season.
Peters contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Erie in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Peters took a fastball from Johnny Erero and stroked the double to right. His 10th double of the season allowed the SeaWolves to leap in front, 4-3.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Dylan Adams told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
Erie has rattled off 4 straight wins.
