Dark Knights Rebuff Curve, 4-2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 26-year old second baseman Winston Alcantar, the Yonkers Dark Knights stopped the Altoona Curve, 4-2, in 9 innings. The triumph makes Yonkers 31-72.
Alcantar contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Yonkers in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Alcantar took a fastball from Edwin Ramey and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Dark Knights to leap in front, 4-2.
In postgame remarks, Alcantar applauded his team's "toughness."
