Gari Stars for Curve in 9-1 Win

Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Altoona Curve and Yonkers Dark Knights.
Getting offensive support from Manuel Gari, the Altoona Curve topped the Yonkers Dark Knights, 9-1. Gari went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Curve. Guillermo Ramos, who is tied for 6th in the EL with a 3.20 ERA, was the winner. He's now 8-3. The loser was Erich Hewitt.
Gari contributed in the bottom of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Altoona get the win.
"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Yonkers skipper Vince Hendrix.
With the win, Altoona raised its record to 59-48.
