Bighorns Drop Rumble Ponies, 7-3
|
The Lincoln Bighorns defeated the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 7-3, in 12 innings. Doing his part was third baseman Mike Dixon, who was 5 for 7 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Lincoln raised its record to 74-33 with the win.
Lincoln took a 4-3 lead on Christian Brück's 16th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Brück hit in the top of the 12th, left Binghamton pitcher Max Penney visibly frustrated.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Brück told the Lincoln Herald. "You win just by scoring more runs."
