Ravens Take Down Metros, 6-2
|
The New Haven Ravens outlasted the Quebec Metros, 6-2, in 18 innings. Alex Davis provided some punch at the plate for New Haven. He was 2-5 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. New Haven reliever Mariano Campos picked up the win, raising his record to 5-3. Brantley Carey was tagged with the loss. The triumph puts New Haven at 66-45 for the season.
Pablo Montgomery provided a timely hit. The New Haven first baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the 18th inning to put the Ravens on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Ravens manager Mike DeBlois.
