Yard Goats Fall, 7-3, to Calvo, Curve
|
The Altoona Curve dealt the Hartford Yard Goats a loss at People's Natural Gas Field. The final score was 7-3. Ray Calvo was especially productive for Altoona. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 triple, he scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Altoona has now won 5 straight, while the Yard Goats have lost 7 in a row.
Calvo contributed in the bottom of the second. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Altoona get the win.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Calvo told the Altoona Times.
