Sea Dogs Make It 5 In a Row with 5-1 Triumph Over Hartford
|
Portland used a superb performance from starting pitcher Riley Sawyer to down the Hartford Yard Goats, 5-1. Lee Miller earned the save for Portland, his 1st of the year. Portland, now 6-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Kason Nelson was 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI for Portland. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Maxie Cofer. It was his 6th hit of the season.
Portland manager Jim Heidkamp commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
