Metros Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
In a tightly-contested game between the Quebec Metros and the Bowie Baysox, pitcher Stan Chamberlain was outstanding. The Quebec right-hander propelled his team's 1-0 win. Marc Serrano, who is tied for 6th in the EL in holds with 10, earned the save for Quebec. By defeating Bowie, the second-place Metros improved to 63-54.

Quebec shortstop Anthony Gill contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put the Metros ahead, 1-0.

"The old adage is true," said Gill. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
