SeaWolves Clip Ravens, 5-4
|
The Erie SeaWolves downed the New Haven Ravens, 5-4, at The Ballpark at Jackson. The SeaWolves were led by Logan Roberson. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Erie reliever Alex Lanier got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Pax Huang was tagged with the loss. Albert Broughton finished the game for Erie and earned his 1st save.
Erie used the timely hitting of Gabriel Allen to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Enjoyed this one," Allen told the Erie Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The win puts Erie at 4-2.
