Erie Tops New Haven, 10-3
|
The Erie SeaWolves topped the New Haven Ravens, 10-3, at The Ballpark at Jackson. Erie left fielder Ken Renda was a spark plug for the offense. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Todd Tanner earned the win for Erie. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. Johnny B. Canales sewed up the save, his 1st.
Erie used the hitting of Michael Clawson to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 2-1. For the game, Clawson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The vibe's good," said Erie manager Jonathan Stout. "We've got to keep it going."
The loss drops the Ravens to 2-5.
