Sea Dogs Eke Out 3-2 Win Versus Erie
|
The Portland Sea Dogs managed to get by the Erie SeaWolves, 3-2, at Hadlock Field. Portland pitcher Wyatt Pinkard set himself apart with his performance. Jimmy Ge was credited with the save, his 20th in 24 tries. The win puts Portland at 42-79.
The Sea Dogs got a big at-bat from first baseman Noam Akins. For the game, Akins was 1-3 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Portland a 2-1 lead.
"We had a good game plan," Pinkard said, "and we were able to execute it."
