Adam Hayman, who is tied for 8th in the EL with a 8.1 K/9 rate, was locked in. The right-hander led the Portland Sea Dogs to a 5-4 win against the Erie SeaWolves at Hadlock Field. In 5 innings, Hayman surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The last-place Sea Dogs have a record of 50-73.
Yago Funez had a big solo home run for the Sea Dogs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Portland leading 4-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from Koda Burgos, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in quality starts with 13, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Sea Dogs on top, 5-1.
