Ravens Handed 2-1 Loss by Halifax
|
The Halifax Frigates got a marvelous performance from pitcher Aiden Sullivan. The right-hander kept the New Haven offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 2-1 Halifax victory at MGM Park. Neoveidis Espinal, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Charles Ortiz recorded his 1st save for Halifax.
Halifax first baseman Ernesto Matos helped the Frigates go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Matos hit a run-scoring single off New Haven pitcher Lincoln Tasker.
"The object of the game is to score more runs than they do," said Matos. "Mission accomplished."
The 6th-place Frigates are 57-67.
