In a low-scoring contest, Erie pitcher Jaques Porras was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-0 win. Porras, the winner, moves to 7-11. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Theodore Conrad, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 25th save.
Aubrey Wooten had a direct impact on the outcome. Wooten contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Erie up, 1-0.
