Rumble Ponies Topple Ravens with Late Rally
|
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies faced a tough opponent in New Haven pitcher Harrison Dugan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Ballpark at Jackson by a final score of 6-1. Dugan went 7 innings and allowed no runs. With the win, Binghamton has a record of 68-65. New Haven falls to 60-73.
Otis Baker was 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 3 runs for Binghamton. With one out and the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, Baker, who is tied for 9th in the EL in triples with 5, had a clutch at-bat. Facing New Haven hurler Ralph Ison, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Rumble Ponies a 2-1 lead.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Baker.
