Gittel Lifts Barnstormers to 10-3 Triumph
The Lancaster Barnstormers defeated the Halifax Frigates, 10-3, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Leading the charge for Lancaster was left fielder Ruben Gittel. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Brit Séguin, who leads the EL in quality starts with 17, was the winner. He's now 11-9. The loser was Anthony Anderson. Hunter Wallace got credit for the save for Lancaster. It was his 2nd of the year.

Gittel put Lancaster up, 8-3, when he hit a grand slam home run off Anthony Anderson in the bottom of the fifth. His 13th home run of the season helped the Barnstormers capture the win.

Lancaster manager Josh Bieber commended his team for "putting the hammer down."

The Barnstormers saw their record improve to 60-73.
