Starting pitcher Diego Linares was a major factor in the 6-2 Hartford Yard Goats triumph over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Hartford pitcher Micky Martineau got the win. He's now 4-3. Dermot Carpenter was tagged with the loss. The 6th-place Yard Goats hiked their record to 57-79.

Liam Braiek came through with a big-time hit for Hartford. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Nice win for us," said Braiek. "Now we'll go after the next one."
