Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Montgomery Biscuits home opener. José Sánchez started for the home team against Nicholaus Grgas for the Mississippi Braves. The Biscuits were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-3, Mississippi. José Sánchez, though, was impressive. The winner in relief was Travis Bonilla. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings.

Mississippi needed the clutch hitting of Gavin McBride to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Braves on top, 4-3. For the game, McBride had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
