Hooks Over Scouts, 9-1
|
Corpus Christi and Chattanooga got after it at AT&T Field.
The Corpus Christi Hooks knocked off the Chattanooga Scouts, 9-1, at AT&T Field. Vincent Ding was a big reason Corpus Christi won. The right fielder was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The Hooks raised their record to 2-1.
It could have been a different outcome for Corpus Christi, had it not been for Mike Stengel, the 25-year old second baseman . Stengel contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Corpus Christi up, 2-1.
"I thought we played a nice game," Ding told the Corpus Christi Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
