Stancell Leads Pensacola Past Biloxi
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the Biloxi Shuckers, pitcher Elpidio Stancell was the difference between victory and defeat. The Pensacola right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Blue Wahoos win. Isaac Miles recorded his 2nd save for Pensacola. With the loss, Biloxi drops to 0-2.
Stancell made it look effortless. He scattered 2 hits over 7.1 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. The Pensacola right-hander encountered little resistance from the Biloxi hitters. His season record is now 1-0.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Stancell.
