Rocket City pitcher Alden Doten did his part in helping his team beat the Tennessee Smokies, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Donavan Thomas, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Bourke Zablocki finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Rocket City used the timely hitting of Wayne Forman to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Trash Pandas on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Forman told a Rocket City Bulletin reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."

Tennessee now has a record of 3-3.
