Smokies Get Past San Antonio for 3-2 Win
|
The Tennessee Smokies did just enough to sneak past the San Antonio Missions, 3-2, at Smokies Park. Tennessee pitcher Cole Medina, in particular, had a standout performance. The win was credited to Emiliano Rivera in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Damen Page took the loss. With the loss, San Antonio sinks to 1-5.
The Smokies were down to their final out when pinch hitter Caleb O'Dowd turned a 1-2 changeup from Damen Page into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Smokies Park crowd go wild.
"I was able to get good plays made behind me," Medina said. "And I was able to make pitches when I needed to make pitches."
