Skidding Aces Lose 7th Straight
|
The Corpus Christi Hooks topped the Alexandria Aces, 3-2, in Southern League action at Whataburger Field. The standout performance belonged to Corpus Christi pitcher and Pahrump, Nevada, native Rex To. The win gives the Hooks a record of 6-1.
Curt McElwee was the walk-off hero for Corpus Christi. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hooks shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Come up with some new questions," snapped losing manager Bryan Dedmon to reporters, "and I'll come up with some new answers."
