Smokies Subdue Aces, 4-2
|
Tennessee and Alexandria duked it out and the Smokies came out victorious.
The Tennessee Smokies racked up a win at Blue Wahoos Stadium, bumping off the Alexandria Aces, 4-2. Alec Young, who started for Tennessee, pitched effectively for his team. Young, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.
Dave Graham had a direct impact on the outcome. Graham contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Tennessee up, 2-0.
"Alec went out and got the job done," said Smokies manager Kraig Fagan.
Alexandria now is 5-2.
