Halifax right-hander Tom Scales helped his team edge Somerset by the score of 3-2. Scales kept the opposing lineup in check. Héctor Benques got credit for the save for Halifax. It was his 2nd of the year. The win takes Halifax to 2-7.
The Frigates got a big at-bat from third baseman E.J. Fleischmann. For the game, Fleischmann was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Halifax a 3-1 lead.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Scales said.
