Naturals Stumble, Lose 3-1 to Missions
Max Cormier pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Northwest Arkansas Naturals, despite Cormier's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the San Antonio Missions at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. San Antonio reliever Todd Owens picked up the win to move to 1-0. Max Cormier suffered the loss. Axel Steele closed the game out for San Antonio, earning his 1st save.

The Missions got a big hit from designated hitter Frank Viscuso. Facing Northwest Arkansas pitcher Max Cormier in the bottom of the fifth, Viscuso pounded a 2-run home run to center. His 1st home run of the season put the Missions ahead, 2-1.

"It's a long season," said Viscuso. "We'll keep working to improve."

"Lousy" describes the Northwest Arkansas performance in the early going.
