San Antonio's Montero Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
|
5 times is the charm -- at least for Donovan Montero.
The San Antonio Missions shortstop tore up the Northwest Arkansas Naturals to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The offensive onslaught from Montero powered the 6-1 Missions win.
"Montero was a tough out," Northwest Arkansas manager Ben Brewer said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Donovan Montero hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Caligulo Delgadillo in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
Montero has collected 12 hits for the Missions this year, 2 of them home runs. He has also netted 6 RBIs and scored 7 runs while batting .353.
