Prude, Jumbo Shrimp Beat Aces, 8-5
|
Davon Prude impressed in the 8-5 Jacksonville win over Alexandria. Prude was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Carter Malak came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. John Matthew earned the save, his 3rd.
With Jacksonville leading 2-0 in the top of the first, Prude hit a curveball from Antonio Delgado for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Jumbo Shrimp ahead, 5-0.
"I've never been a good loser," admitted losing manager Bryan Dedmon, before walking out on reporters.
The Jumbo Shrimp, now 10-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
