Hammons Field was the site for Southern League action featuring the Tennessee Smokies and Tulsa Drillers.

A 4-RBI performance from the 25-year old third baseman M.J. Bakker helped the Tulsa Drillers beat the Tennessee Smokies, 11-1. The Smokies fall to 5-9 and continue to sputter in the early going.

With Tulsa leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Bakker hit a fastball from A.J. Abston for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 7-1.

"They beat us, they beat us soundly," said losing manager Kraig Fagan.
