Smokies Tack 5-1 Loss on Biscuits
|
Montgomery got a decent performance from pitcher B.J. Hineline, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tennessee Smokies. Tennessee won the Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium contest, 5-1. Hineline threw 6.0 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. The loss makes Montgomery 12-4.
It could have been a different outcome for Tennessee, had it not been for Dan Moreno, the 24-year old third baseman . Moreno contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Tennessee up, 4-0.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Moreno after the game.
