Starting Pitcher Newton Willingham was lights out, as the Frisco RoughRiders beat the Mississippi Braves, 1-0. Willingham got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Michael Schaeffer got the save, the 4th for him this season.

Frisco took a 1-0 lead on Davis Peters's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Peters hit in the top of the seventh, left Mississippi pitcher Scott English visibly frustrated.

"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Frisco skipper Wayne Dahl.

The RoughRiders raised their record to 9-5.
