Shuckers Win at Corpus Christi, 5-4
|
Corpus Christi center fielder Fred Sluder was sensational. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Biloxi beat the Hooks, 5-4. The win was credited to Victor Walker in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Sherman Psaroulakis took the loss. Earning his 4th save for Biloxi was Javier Sanz.
It could have been a different outcome for Biloxi, had it not been for Denny Mendez, the 27-year old center fielder . Mendez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Biloxi up, 2-1.
"It's Baseball 101," said Biloxi manager Seth Eady. "Fundamentals."
The victory makes Biloxi 8-6.
