St. Petersburg Rallies to 7-6 Win
|
The inspired effort of Jacksonville left fielder John Ogg was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels. Ogg went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. The Jumbo Shrimp, now 4-9, continue their sluggish start.
The decisive blow was delivered by Gael Quill in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 24-year old left-handed pitcher Michael Cary to win the game for St. Petersburg. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Quill said.
