Flying Squirrels Top Trash Pandas to Even Record

The St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels picked up a win at The Diamond, knocking off the Rocket City Trash Pandas, 4-1. Starting pitcher Alexander Lorimer was an essential part of his team's success. Lorimer went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-2. Getting the save was Savino Santiago, his 3rd.
Tristan McCans, who is tied for 9th in the SL in hits with 19, chipped in for St. Petersburg with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Lorimer said.
The loss drops the Rocket City record to a disappointing 6-8.
