|
Tennessee left fielder Justino Chavez was sensational. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Biloxi beat the Smokies, 7-3. Biloxi goes to 8-10.
The Shuckers got a big at-bat from second baseman A.J. Long. For the game, Long went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Biloxi a 3-2 lead.
Long said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
