The San Antonio Missions eked out a 3-2 win versus the Montgomery Biscuits at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Augustine Verdier. He was terrific. Verdier picked up the win for San Antonio, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Damen Page closed the door for San Antonio, picking up his 8th save of the year.
Arend Dwyer aided the San Antonio cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said San Antonio manager Mike Rath.
With the loss, Montgomery drops to 13-10.
