Shreveport turned a good effort from starter Rich Gayle into a win over the Frisco RoughRiders at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. The final score was 3-0. In 6.1 innings, Gayle surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Frisco now is 11-11.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Sebastian Tressler? The Shreveport first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Engineers on top, 2-0. For the game, Tressler had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
