Tyler, Engineers Beat Missions, 9-3
|
The Shreveport Engineers topped the San Antonio Missions, 9-3, the lion's share of the credit going to designated hitter Malcolm Tyler. On the day, Tyler went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Engineers. At 18-6, the 2067 Engineers have been excellent so far.
Tyler contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Shreveport in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Tyler took a changeup from Zander Prieto and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Engineers to leap in front, 5-3.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Tyler. "You've got to get results."
