In a tight tilt between the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels, Eishoku Watanabe was the deciding factor. The Pensacola right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Brock Martin closed out the game, earning his 3rd save. St. Petersburg now has a record of 13-9.
Pensacola catcher Robin Passarella contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Blue Wahoos ahead, 3-0.
"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Watanabe.
