|
Midland beat Pensacola at Security Bank Ballpark, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to first baseman Gavin Thomas. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. The winner was Midland reliever Tristan Ott, now 2-0. The loser was Dorian Clark. Midland, at 13-15, sits in 7th place in the Southern League Texas Division.
K.J. Rice, who is tied for 7th in the SL with a .961 OPS, took Pensacola hurler Dorian Clark deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the RockHounds on top, 6-5. In all, Rice had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Thomas said.
