With 4-0 Win, Flying Squirrels Go to 13-13
|
Timothy Murphey never let Midland get something going. The St. Petersburg right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Flying Squirrels to a 4-0 win. The loss drops the Midland record to a disappointing 8-18.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fourth inning, but Murphey was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Midland trailing 1-0, Murphey retired J.J. Ellis, who flied out.
