Late Rally by Braves Secures 5-3 Win
Mississippi Braves right-hander Calvin Pizana pitched a good game against the Shreveport Engineers at Engineers Ballpark, leading his team to victory, 5-3. Erick Sharier was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Giovanni Popo. Ray Laboissonniere picked up the save, his 10th.

Marz Galiano delivered a big hit for Mississippi. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Braves ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Galiano told the Mississippi Herald. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."

Mississippi now has a record of 16-12 with the win.
