With first baseman Manuel Medina leading the charge, the Corpus Christi Hooks defeated the Rocket City Trash Pandas, 8-1, at Hank Aaron Stadium. Medina, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in total bases with 52, was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Corpus Christi reliever John Wasecko picked up the win to move to 1-2. Gregory Davidson suffered the loss. Rocket City drops to 12-14.

With Corpus Christi leading 4-0 in the top of the sixth, Medina came up to bat against Rocket City pitcher Gregorio Bello. Medina hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Hooks on top, 8-0.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," Medina said.
