The Shreveport Engineers beat the Tulsa Drillers, 7-3. Shreveport pitcher and West Whittier-Los Nietos, California, native Wendell Graham led the way. The third-place Engineers improved to 16-14.

In the top of the fourth, Shreveport catcher Kerrin Davies had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Davies stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 4-2, Shreveport. For the game, he was 1-4.

In postgame comments to the Shreveport News, Graham said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
