Engineers Tack 7-4 Loss on Frisco
|
The inspired effort of Frisco right fielder Phil Partyka was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-4, to the Shreveport Engineers. Partyka went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jerom Hughes picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-4. Jayson Thomas picked up his 4th save of the season.
Shreveport used a well-timed hit by Jayden Lamothe to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Engineers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
Said Frisco manager Brooks Boyd: "They did a lot of things right. We did a lot of things wrong."
The win makes Shreveport 21-11.
