Biscuits Chop Down Scouts, 2-0
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Montgomery Biscuits and the Chattanooga Scouts, pitcher Alex Briggs was the difference between victory and defeat. The Montgomery right-hander earned kudos in the 2-0 Biscuits win. Earning his 8th save of the year was Jonah Hopkins. The loss makes Chattanooga 16-14.
The Biscuits got a big at-bat from first baseman Ximenes Armenta. For the game, Armenta went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Montgomery a 1-0 lead.
"Alex gave us a heck of an effort," said Montgomery manager Hector Bonilla.
