The Rocket City Trash Pandas overcame a good performance by Tennessee catcher Dilan Negron to knock off Tennessee, 9-7, at Smokies Park. Negron was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The save went to Woodie Washington, his 8th this season. The win makes Rocket City 15-15.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, J.J. Treadway was at the plate when Rocket City scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Trash Pandas to go in front, 7-6.

Trash Pandas manager Rich Soriano wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
