Hooks Throttled by Scouts, 7-1
|
Not everyone stuck through the 34-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Chattanooga Scouts downed the Corpus Christi Hooks, 7-1. The hitting star was shortstop Camden Thomas. Thomas went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Scouts. Dave Dinda was credited with the save for Chattanooga, his 2nd of the season.
In the bottom of the fifth, Chattanooga right fielder Israel Tejeda had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Tejeda stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, Chattanooga. For the game, he went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Thomas attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The Scouts, at 20-16, have now won 4 straight.
