Scouts Spill Engineers, 8-6
|
The Chattanooga Scouts picked up a win at Engineers Ballpark, downing the Shreveport Engineers, 8-6. On the mound for Chattanooga was right-hander Grey Dennison, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winner was Dennison. He threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Gastón Hernández. Maxie Giddings earned save number 12 this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jeremiah Cruz? The Chattanooga second baseman had a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scouts on top, 5-2. For the game, Cruz had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Cruz.
With the win over Shreveport, the Scouts improved to 23-12.
