Despite the exploits of designated hitter Oscar Bankole, the Gateway Grizzlies were beaten by the Somerset Patriots, 6-5, in 10 innings. Bankole was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Somerset reliever Dane Miller picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Hunter Biggs was saddled with the loss. Fred Rich earned save number 2 this season.

Somerset needed the clutch hitting of Jake Weekly to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Patriots on top, 6-5. For the game, Weekly had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Gateway manager Elijah Holmes. "But we decided not to take it."
