Trash Pandas Net 6-5 Win Over Braves
|
The Rocket City Trash Pandas besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Mississippi second baseman Michael Cly by beating the Braves, 6-5, at Trustmark Park. Cly went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Picking up his 4th save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Nicky Boling. Mississippi has now lost 5 straight.
Rocket City used a well-timed hit by Mick Hirn to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Trash Pandas ahead, 5-4. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Rocket City manager Hugo Vallarta.
