Jefferys Socks 2 Home Runs in 11-0 Frisco Win
|
The Frisco RoughRiders met little resistance from the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, beating them 11-0 at Rebels Ballpark. Riley Jefferys led the way. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for Frisco. Zach Sergeant picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-1. He struck out 1 in 6 innings. Frisco has now won 6 straight, while the Blue Wahoos have lost 4 in a row.
With Frisco leading 7-0 in the top of the ninth, Jefferys came up to bat against Pensacola pitcher Jon Felty. Jefferys hit a fastball to right for a grand slam home run. His 10th home run of the season put the RoughRiders on top, 11-0.
Pensacola manager Freddy Molina called the blowout loss "just something that happens from time to time."
